We have four more volunteer spots available for our June 6th Cleanup of the Shudde Fath Tract, part of the Water Quality Protection Lands of Austin. Register here at the Austin Parks Foundation Website today!
The Shudde Fath Tract is a 77-acre parcel of land at the end of West Gate Blvd dedicated to activist and long-time Save Barton Creek Association treasurer, Shudde Fath. Volunteers are needed to clean up trash along the tributary that cuts through the land, which will help to improve water quality in Barton Creek and at the Barton Springs Pool.
This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the dedication of this land, which touches the Barton Creek Wilderness Park and Barton Creek Greenbelt. We hope you can join us for the beautification of this hidden jewel in the heart of our city.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Shudde Fath Tract is part of the Water Quality Protection Land of Texas. These lands recharge the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer, but are not open to the public for recreational purposes. Save Barton Creek Association has made special arrangements with the WQPL Wildlands Divison for cleanup volunteers on National Trails Day. No trespassing is allowed on the property and violators will be prosecuted if trespassing outside of event hours.
Thanks to Keep Austin Beautiful for providing tools and a dumpster for this event, and to Whole Foods Market Arbor Trails for providing breakfast and hydration for our volunteers.
